Information Management

Good information management is key to a well-used platform.  At the minimum this requires good metadata about what is on the site. This, along with an adequate search facility, allows documents and other material to be found even if they are being searched for under second or third order tags of their content and no matter when they were created. The use of FAIR principles (https://www.go-fair.org/fair-principles/) and linked open (meta)data create new possibilities for the development of fields by making it easy for metadata about resources to be shared automatically between different sites and greatly reducing the need for the duplication of effort within a field.
